About Me

My photo
Thank you for visting my blog. When I started this blog, it was just the vehicle for which I had hoped to share photos of our life in Chicagoland with our loved ones, but it has turned into so much more for me. Life is ever evolving in our household and time no longer stands still. Every moment is precious and worthy of being captured and treasured. In addition, through my love of the camera, I have had the opportunity to meet and also capture moments in others' lives. It is my hope, with this blog, that when my memory fails me, the words and photos on this blog will remind of where we were. History...Through My Glass...

magical again

I had forgotten how much I loved Christmastime until this year. Having Roan has brought back much of the excitement I used to feel. I remember lying underneath the tree in the dark, except the lights from the tree and looking up into the branches, pretending to be a small Tinkerbell flying through it.

He was so excited to see Santa (according to Roan, Santa is called Christmas) at the mall and since then, he's noticing the local decorations. We put up our tree and decorations (and took our holiday photos) on Sunday (we started on Saturday night) and he was so excited. He took many of the ornaments and was pretend playing with them. We did have a few casualties, as far as broken ornaments, but that's because I tend to stay away from the fancy stuff. Up until this year, we've had no issues with Roan touching the ornaments, but every day since I've found abandoned ornaments around the house. He also loves the tree lighting every night. So sweet!

When we finally got all of the ornaments up on the tree and turned it on, he said, "Beautiful!" It was so sweet! Finally, someone who appreciates my work! Unfortunately, I'm not much of a decorator and I tend to lean on the haphazard side, even though I love pretty things. The following are some photos from the night.

Below: He actually wanted to pose for photos with the bare tree. And yes, ours comes with lights. One day we'll have a real one, but for now...this is all that I can take.

Above: we took a Ka-cup (cupcake) break and thus the chocolate food marks on his cheeks.
Above: Roan's favorite ornament--Frosty.
Below: sneak peak of our holiday photos.
