About Me

My photo
Thank you for visting my blog. When I started this blog, it was just the vehicle for which I had hoped to share photos of our life in Chicagoland with our loved ones, but it has turned into so much more for me. Life is ever evolving in our household and time no longer stands still. Every moment is precious and worthy of being captured and treasured. In addition, through my love of the camera, I have had the opportunity to meet and also capture moments in others' lives. It is my hope, with this blog, that when my memory fails me, the words and photos on this blog will remind of where we were. History...Through My Glass...

baby p preview

Since I couldn't remember the password, I'll put it up here.

Above: "Pretty" as she preferred to be called, big sister.

grandparents

My parents have been overseas, working for a couple of years now. They are back for the summer and we got the chance to visit them.

It always amazes me just how connected we are to our family. Roan has only seen my parents a handful of times in person and some of it was when he had no memory yet (he was small). However, whenever he sees them, it seems he just knows. That shy, cute expression overcomes him and he goes to hug them.

We did a mini shoot with my parents and their seven grand kids (seven kids under 9--that's hard). Anyways, I think I may have to swap a face or two, but here is one of just Roan and his grandparents, my parents.

cousins

Some of Roan's cousins. Couldn't for the life of me get any photos of Gabe. :( Gabe, Ayden, and Roan are the middle cousins. I couldn't get one of them all together like this.

sparklers

It was like at first site. He was brave with the sparklers, but the fireworks were another story. Lately, he's been really fearful of loud noises.

After some hesitation, Gabe finally found joy...in the form of a sparkler.
Something so wonderful about childhood.

I had the opportunity to take some photos for a virtual friend while I was in MN. Here is a preview of Baby P. There will be a few more on the link to right under "Photography by Kaosong"...as soon as I can remember the password to that blog.

autobot

Roan referred to this old, broken down car as an "autobot". This was taken a couple of weeks ago. We've been visiting family for the last week or so. I'll post pictures from our trip soon. I have a lot to go through.

playground searching

Roan and I went for a walk at Graue Mill on Sunday. As we were on the path and after letting three dogs kiss him, he asked me if we could go to the playground. It was getting late and the mosquitos were starting to come out in full rage so I told him, we'd have to find one. Roan started saying, "Playground, where are you?" so I played along.

We started walking back towards the car and I heard him stop. As I turned around, I saw him facing a large tree and heard him ask the tree if it's seen a playground. Roan's got a great imagination. He asked a couple more trees about the playground. We learned a good lesson that evening--Trees don't know where playgrounds are...or they are not talking.

Above: I got a smile AND eye contact!

Above: He was putting on his "mean" face.

Above: "Hello? Anyone home?" Every time we come here the mill is closed. He always tries to get in.

BTW...It's real...the D700 is real! I love my D300 and can live with it for now, but I am going to save up for this one: Full frame, high ISO performance? I'm drooling!
