About Me

My photo
Thank you for visting my blog. When I started this blog, it was just the vehicle for which I had hoped to share photos of our life in Chicagoland with our loved ones, but it has turned into so much more for me. Life is ever evolving in our household and time no longer stands still. Every moment is precious and worthy of being captured and treasured. In addition, through my love of the camera, I have had the opportunity to meet and also capture moments in others' lives. It is my hope, with this blog, that when my memory fails me, the words and photos on this blog will remind of where we were. History...Through My Glass...

celebrating family

Have I mentioned how much I love my family? We spent the weekend at a very large cabin at a resort. The time flew by so quickly. I was sad to leave. It was also my parent's last weekend in America. They are headed back overseas for work.

Here is my youngest brother. I always post his pictures because I know that he doesn't mind.

We also celebrated Aleah's 2nd birthday. Most of us didn't know we were going to celebrate it, but it's always fun to have cake and ice cream. Her retro stroller and baby doll caused mayhem with the kids. Everyone wanted a turn. She just wanted to mother her new baby. It was adorable!

Today, I completed registering Roan for preschool. It was bittersweet. We'll be going back next week to get orientation on how to ride the bus. A bus will pick him up from daycare and take him to school and then back. I can't imagine how he'll be in the bus. I have to admit that I got a little teary-eyed when I looked at his school supplies list. It made it all real for me.

Roan has learned to assert his independence. In the mornings, he asks for chicken and french fries...and then cries when we bring him pancakes and eggs. He's also learned that when Mama says, "No thank you" that she doesn't have to take what is offered to her so his new favorite phrase is, "No thank you". At least he's polite, right? Sometimes, we let him politely decline, but we're finding that we have to make sure that he knows that he has to do most of the things that we ask of him or accept most of the things that we offer to him.

aww. enjoy him while you can -- it seems like they go from preschool to 3rd grad in no time. i still remember when max was in preschool and yes, it is bittersweet. as for the formula change for baby M, trust me, we tried everything too including 3 other types of formual. my SIL actually told me to switch her to soy because baby m broke out in rash (milk allergy) and the same thing happened to her baby.
