About Me

My photo
Thank you for visting my blog. When I started this blog, it was just the vehicle for which I had hoped to share photos of our life in Chicagoland with our loved ones, but it has turned into so much more for me. Life is ever evolving in our household and time no longer stands still. Every moment is precious and worthy of being captured and treasured. In addition, through my love of the camera, I have had the opportunity to meet and also capture moments in others' lives. It is my hope, with this blog, that when my memory fails me, the words and photos on this blog will remind of where we were. History...Through My Glass...

Skillbuilding...Dusk Session

Can you tell? I am getting so desparate! I feel so uncreative and like I'm at a dead end. I don't feel like I am progressing anymore. Blaaahhhh!

I went outside after I put Roan down, which means it's dusk and tried to get creative with anyting within a 100 feet from my house. I kind of like the black and white conversion even though my feet look a little blown out...only because you can see my nasty, flip flop tan lines.

Above: Our front porch. I still love the red door. It's out of focus, but that is because I was focusing on the boots.

Above (4): I thought about making a story board with the fire hydrant, but then I realized it would be too boring and uninteresting. Who cares about a fire hydrant? ...Like I said, I had to stay within 100 feet of my house since my child was sleeping inside the house.
Above: Our back porch door. It's red also.

Above and below: Alas, finally it got too dark outside and I had to come inside. I am working on completing the scavenger hunt from the photo board that I belong to this month. One of the items is "bathroom".

I have to credit Brenda's Actions for the above black and whites. Seriously, I don't even know how to use them since they are only partially automatic, but I really like how they turned out. I was a sucker and fell for the marketing. I don't regret it though, since it was kind of a steal. Her's are some of the best out there, IMO.

Well, I'm off to do dishes and finally put my clothes away from our trip...yes, they are folded and washed. Choua returns tomorrow. Roan and I miss him. Everyday after daycare, we drive up our driveway and when Roan see's Choua's Jeep, he says, "Daddy". Then he comes inside and heads for Choua's computer, confused that he is not in his "usual "place.

Finally, last but not least...to all of our friends and family in MN, our prayers are with you. We love the Twin Cities and it's people and wish that we could be there to help with the healing. I love the humanity that has resulted from this tragedy.

I think your pictures look great. I really like the one of the sink.

The Colorado pictures are great too. Bai and Pete's kids are so cute. Steph says they are also smart. I have never meet their kids.

To get the pictures side by side, you have to attach them as 'small'. Then I drag and drop them next to each other.

Kaosong, I like your b&w conversion. Did you use an action? Great shots.

I think your color shots are good but the colors look a little off on my monitor. It almost looks underexposed. Maybe if you post your settings. I really should make an effort to post my settings as well. It really does help.

I had to laugh at your dusk session title...waiting for Roan to go to bed. :) I wish I had a little one like Roan around so I can shoot photos!
